This recording was made during a brief visit to Seattle, to play at Decibel Festival in Sept. 2012. I spent the second day of my visit walking around the city from 4th Av/ Union Street to Seattle Center and then up to Capitol Hill, followed by a visit to Pike Market Place where I had some lunch. I concluded my walk down to Pioneer Square. On my way there I crossed the Alaskan Way Viaduct and found myself walking along the seafront. The sound of the viaduct stroke me immediately . There is a ghostliness to it as it never reaches your ear in full volume. It is always distant and the vehicles are not visible to people passing underneath it not untli you find yourself on the other side of the road, by the sea.
